My good Anastazja Z Winnickiego Wzgórza
Anastazja z Winnickiego Wzgórza is the greatest fullfilment of my kennel love. A daughter of Hadża Ak-Nukker and Barhan Berendey, first-born in Winnickie Wzgórze. Anastazja has stayed here being braught up here and passing her maturity test. Chosen on the way of selection, Anastazja has been destined for breeding. She is close to the place as it is her home. I am not going to write either about the time of her puppy days or her maturity.
Since the time Anastazja was born, we have been able to see in her eyes what intentions she carries in her heart. Maybe I will raise a popular subject concerning a dog behaviour, namely its values. It is a crucial subject when it comes to an animal community- the principles of cooperation based on the law of nature; the stages of learning how to cooperate. I am also going to write about Anastazja's shrewdness, her internal knowledge connected with intelligence and undrestanding the world as well as various phenomena and their interrelationship. She is also characterized by cunning, bravery, courage, and the mental approach which help her achieve the intended goals. What characterizes Anastazja most is however a great contact with the surroundings, her courtesy and politeness, which is a result of her good manners. Such contacts, make every dog more credible, they assure that any encounter with somebody or something new, will result in a creating a new community ex. with the household members. They also tighten the bonds between them and lead to a trusted relationship. Such a behaviour of Anastazja's in the group of my dog is a set of her moral principles, her herd preferences as well as her attitudes creating a final way of her thinking. That internal knowledge is a dog's talent to respect everything different. It is friendship that allows dogs to survive and gives a pleasure of being together. It also makes it easier to go through the time of growing up if the moodiness is understood and put up with by another, adult quadruped. In a group of dogs there must coexist a system, there must appaer a cooperation, from which their mutual aims and the rules of a dog behaviour derive. Otherwise there might appear a contradiction between the dogs. It will not be overcome then. In the life of every quadruped it is the ability to direct its feelings, that is the most important. Their ambitions in the group are the durabilityof the proper character and the developmental continuity. Individualism, in turn, is the aptitude which helps the dog to feel the rhythm of its own life and organism as well as the needs of the owner, the group and the dog itself. |

Anastazja's gift for making friends is based on positive experiences received from the ancestors and from the group. It is also based on her mental maturity and the respect she has towards other dogs. It is her father, Barhan, that has taught her the respect for others. Anastazja presents it not only the way she lives and behaves. It consists in the fact that she is not hot-tempered but rather calm, she takes time, she tries to control her thoughts, Anastazja behaves with deliberation but reacts immediately if necessary. A dog like that is never detrimental to anybody so it is worth investing in such a talent. An average dog's owner sometimes does not notice that a wisdom is seen in the ability to chose from among many possible solutions. In the case of an adult bitch, the optimal wisdom of how to react means realisation of this knowldege in practice. However in order to react smartly, the dog needs to have an innate intuition, an imaginatin and a skill to predict things and to identify with a situation. The dog also needs to understand other dogs' and peoples' reactions properly and consider every possibility of dealing with a problem soberly. |

As we can see, her history as well as the histories of other dogs from Winnickie Wzgórze has been rich in many events. The founders of the line from Winnickie Wzgórze are Barhan Berendey, Hummer Ak-Nukker, Hadża Ak-Nukker, Arisza Ak-Nukker and Baykalay Ak-Nukker. Their descendants will determine the importance of the line from Winnickie Wzgórze. Will they however take over the heritage of their forefathers? Will they be beneficial to the new generations? Time shows. It is the breeder that decides about the exceptionality of the genes and which of them to make use of. He decides which of his dogs should be used for reproduction. The decision is made under the influence of observations of the animals he has. Selecting puppies, dogs, bitches to breed is creating a new generation in the kennel. Will the chosen, strong couples ensure successful generations and the kennel's progress at the same time? Will they pass their most precious genes on the pups? The advantage of such an observation not only makes it easier when selecting couples for reproduction and bringing their offspring up. It also aims at identifying the mistakes made when bringing up the dogs. This research method consists in noticing the faults and mistakes systhematicly. Consequently we can separate some elements of various genetic faults when it comes to both psyche and the physical appearance. The elements should be divided into specific types of faults or behaviour itself into: undesirable, troublesome, harmful sharpness, fear or being apathetic. I am thinking neither about the aggression steming from self-defence or the necessity to protect the territory, the owner the household members and the litter, nor the aggression coming from the desire for gaining domination, which can be seen on the example of the subordination in the group, or the characteristic types of behaviour appearing during the mating time. |

Mating animals of the same breed ( or of different lines as in the case of the CAOs ) in order to achieve a new kind of dog, I would call a sort of " new-dog creation ". I am a supporter of improving the features of CAOs, which is the so called " ennobling mating " . We should however not forget about a certain number of features which must not be mutually exclusive, they must be in agreement. My aim is an independent, self-reliant dog which is to eliminate agonistic behaviours like aggression, permanent fear, vagrancy, lack of sensitivity or discouragement. It is a selection of the most favourable features for the future generations. This selection consists in eliminating the undesirable, bad habbits or the inborn genetic faults of the dogs not adopted to function in a community. The natural selection leads to creating or strengthening a dog character which is supposed to unite but not divide. The features which are claimed to be unsuitable, are to be improved by the better ones. Together with domestication of animals, the selection of particular features has gone up. It has been carried out mostly for financial reasons but also to reduce or even get rid of ex. guard dogs' aggression, which today are known as very gentle specimens. But sometimes genetic faults tend to recur because of reckless mating. Domestication has been a long- lasting process, which is based on the artificial selection of animals for reproduction. It aims either at achieving or strengthening the features that are favourable from the human point of view . The specimens living at large retain their independence and individualism. Our animals are tame and differ from their wild ancestors in terms of both- behaviour and appearance. They are of better construction and are better muscled. The changes take place mostly for the purpose of dog shows. Today's guard dog is perceived as a friend and it would be perfect if it was delighted at the sight of strangers. As a result of suitable mating we can achieve a dog with very well developed working abilities. A breeder is free to manipulate these abilities to get an ideal dog. From one gneration to another we can see that the dog brain developes and heads for the good direction. Let's look at males that are able to cover distances and deal with various obstacles to get to the loot. In the kennel a breeder can observe a male doing everything to get to the bitch in heat. They simply move their heads. These are inborn (not taught) instincts, they can not be stopped in any way. |

P.S. When in the 80's, as a young men and the head of the family, I went abroad to seek profits, I came across many interesting and practically rare things for us, Poles. I was impressed by the modern motorization and building. When after a few years of wandering, I was coming back to my homeland, I was dreaming about a car and my own home. After a couple of years it was within my reach. I built a house and bought a brand new car. But I did not enjoyed it long. When Anastazja appeared in Winnickie Wzgórze, it was a new perspective. It has suddenly turned out that the kennel, together wih the puppies born here, are what I have been dreaming about.. There is peace and quiet here. It is simply my place to be. |
